About Joe Wicks
Joe, also known as The Body Coach, is a British fitness coach, TV presenter, social media personality and author. He started his career by posting 15-second recipe videos on social media, and is now one of the most followed fitness accounts globally on both Instagram and YouTube.
Joe’s popularity boomed during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, when he began ‘PE With Joe’ on YouTube to try to help children stay active during the lockdown; the first livestream had a huge impact and was viewed by over a million users worldwide, setting a new Guinness world record.
The series continued for 4 months throughout the lockdown, leading to Joe being awarded an MBE for his efforts during the pandemic.
Joe Wicks and Amber
Surrey-born Joe first became aware of The Amber Foundation after his mother, a social worker, started to work with some of the residents at their site near Dorking in Surrey. Since then, Joe has visited the centre on a number of occasions, donating fitness equipment and giving advice on physical activity and nutrition – Joe became a patron of Amber in 2021.
“I have been lucky enough to visit Amber’s Surrey centre a few times to meet the young people and the team after being introduced by my mum. I always leave feeling so inspired by the work and by the individuals who are turning their lives around. Being a child growing up in a family with experience of addiction and chaos, I am reminded just how important places like this are for people who need some love and support so I’m delighted to become a patron. Amber is a place that truly cares and wants to see people live a healthier and happier life. We both share this mission and it is important to me that I do anything that I can to help this work continue. I hope my involvement can lead to even more people receiving help and support in the future.”

The Effect Your Donations Have
By entering this competition you will be helping Amber support young homeless and unemployed in crisis, providing them with a temporary home and an intensive programme of support that helps young people change their lives for good. The young people that Amber supports are often grappling with complex challenges, with many dealing with childhood trauma, mental health problems and addiction but Amber believes that with the right support, all young people can lead positive lives.
Last year, 77% of the young people that Amber supported left their service to go into sustainable accommodation with a job, further training or having achieved a major goal. It is life changing work. As one young woman who stayed at Amber said:
“If I hadn’t come to Amber I would probably be dead. I was rock bottom. It’s crazy how far you can come in a short period with the space, the time and the support from everyone here. I just want to say a huge thank you to the team leaders and other residents. They’ve all been there for me, allowed me to be myself and re-discover who I am.”
70% of profits go directly to our charity partners so they can continue their amazing work all around the world.
30% of profits go to covering our operational costs and other costs associated with marketing the experiences
