SAVING SOUTH AFRICA’S LIONS
South Africa’s lions are facing an unprecedented threat. The once thriving population in the Kruger National Park is now under siege from rampant poaching, with a staggering 10 lions lost in the first six months of 2024 alone. This crisis is not just about lions; it’s a devastating blow to the entire ecosystem.
Poisoning, a cruel and indiscriminate method used by poachers, has far-reaching consequences. Not only are lions targeted, but countless scavengers and critically endangered vultures are also dying. The Endangered Wildlife Trust is on the frontlines, working tirelessly to rescue and rehabilitate injured animals.
We need your help to protect these iconic predators. By entering our competition, you can contribute to vital conservation efforts and help ensure a future for lions in South Africa.
